Review - Wildling Workshop

On Sunday 7th February we were joined by Jo Balfe from Nurturing Kitchen for a food workshop at West Lexham in Norfolk, focused on whole foods for families.

Our group was varied but with similar tales to tell of raw food or refined sugar-free recipes gone wrong or a pantry full of healthy ingredients and no idea how to use them (buckwheat and chia seeds anyone?). We also need help with inspiring our children to try green smoothies and raw vegetables.

Jo started by taking us through her own food journey and her current method of preparing and eating food with her family. She then talked about the diversity of her key pantry staples before taking us through a series of simple but incredible recipes. Needless to say, we left inspired.

Nut milks led into green smoothies and then a beautiful Spring abundance bowl filled with buckwheat, kale pesto, sprouted Amaranth and bright grated vegetables. Of course after preparing the food we ate with warming vegetable chilli and freshly-prepared guacamole.

After lunch we delved into sweet treats including a stunning raw cheesecake and the simplest banana ice cream that cemented our excitement about introducing our children to some sugar-free desserts.
