My Auntie resides in the heart of Apple Hill, located in the quaint gold country town of Camino, California. I grew up riding her horses, collecting eggs from her chickens, admiring the beautiful gardens and loving country life at her home, Crystal Springs Gardens.
My Auntie’s home is a dream. Commercials and even a feature movie has been filmed there. My Grandpa, a camera enthusiast, became a regular on set. The historic Victorian home has also been used for weddings (my own wedding was held there) and currently, a place for breeding pure spanish horses. The grounds are dotted with apple trees and over fifty species of heritage roses. Thomas Kinkade even painted her home, titled "Sundays at Apple Hill".
Spending time in Apple Hill is a favorite family outing, whether it be Easter Sunday at my Auntie's house (documented in this shoot), summertime berry picking, apple doughnuts in the fall or searching for the perfect Christmas tree in winter. I will always cherish these fond memories. Spending time with my children here is so precious.
